Terms of Service

Welcome to Locals. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Locals mobile and web applications, websites and services (the "Service"), provided within the CouProducAiSystems group ("Locals", "we", "us"). The group includes CouProducAiSystems LLC, the New York entity, and CouProducAiSystems LTD, the Ghana entity. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Locals is

Locals is a technology platform that connects passengers with independent drivers of three-wheelers (pragia/keke), taxis and motorbikes for on-demand rides, parcel deliveries and errands in Cape Coast, Elmina and other areas of Ghana. Locals is a marketplace: we do not own vehicles or employ drivers. Drivers are independent operators who provide transport and delivery services.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Bookings, fares & payments

• Fares are calculated based on distance, vehicle type and applicable fees, and are shown before you confirm a booking.
• You may pay by Mobile Money, card (processed securely by our payment partner, Paystack) or cash to the driver, where available.
• Locals charges drivers a service commission on completed trips. Payment card details are handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor; Locals does not store your full card details.
• You authorise us (and our payment processor) to charge your selected payment method for the fares and fees you incur.

4. Cancellations & refunds

• You may cancel a trip before the driver arrives. A cancellation fee may apply if a driver has already travelled to your pickup.
• If you paid online for a trip that did not take place, contact support@localsgh.com and we will review and, where appropriate, refund the amount to your original payment method.
• Refunds, where due, are processed through Paystack to the original payment method.

5. Your responsibilities

• Treat drivers and other users with respect. Unlawful, abusive or unsafe behaviour may result in suspension.
• Do not use the Service to transport illegal, dangerous or prohibited goods.
• Provide accurate pickup and destination information.

6. Driver terms

Drivers using Locals agree to hold any licences required by law, to provide services safely and lawfully, to keep their vehicle roadworthy, and to comply with Locals' community and safety standards. Drivers are independent contractors and are not employees or agents of Locals.

7. Safety

Locals provides features such as live trip tracking, driver identification and ratings to support safety, but we cannot guarantee the conduct of any user. Use your judgement and report concerns to us.

8. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Locals is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or the acts of any driver or passenger.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
