This Privacy Policy explains how Locals, a subsidiary within the CouProducAiSystems group ("Locals", "we", "us"), collects, uses and protects your information when you use our apps, websites and services (the "Service"). The group includes CouProducAiSystems LLC, the New York entity, and CouProducAiSystems LTD, the Ghana entity. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, phone number and email address you provide when signing up.
• Trip and booking information: pickup and destination locations, trip times, vehicle type, and delivery details.
• Location data: for passengers and drivers, we use device location to match rides, show live tracking and calculate routes and fares.
• Payment information: payments are processed by our payment partner, Paystack. We receive confirmation of payment and a reference, but we do not store your full card number.
• Usage and device information: basic technical data such as app version and device type, used to operate and improve the Service.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the Service — matching rides, enabling live tracking, calculating fares and processing payments.
• To communicate with you about your bookings, account and support requests.
• To keep the Service safe, prevent fraud and enforce our Terms.
• To improve and develop features, including our multilingual voice assistant.

3. How we share information

• With drivers/passengers: to complete a trip, a passenger and their assigned driver share limited details (e.g. name, pickup, live location).
• With service providers: such as our payment processor (Paystack), mapping provider (Google Maps) and hosting/database provider (Supabase), who process data on our behalf.
• For legal reasons: where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
• We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

6. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. You can also stop using the Service and request that your account be closed.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
